Title: Designator text
Post by sixeyes on Jan 30th, 2007 at 12:42pm
Having just purchased VeeCAD I can see designator text  :)

I've rotated the labels for my diodes and some fit within the diode body nicely and some fall off one end because I can only place them on the same grid as the components. I'd like to be able to place my text in the middle of the component body.

Would it be possible in a future version to allow more fine grained placement of the designator text?

OK, now on my list of planned additions.  Other issues take priority at the moment though.

Suggestions for now : Use short designators like R1, D1.  Make the component one cell longer than it really is, just to fit text.  Put text beside or at end of component.

Thanks for the pointers. I ended up making the components one cell longer. Worked a treat.
