Vertical resistors

Is it possible to have a vertical resistor?

Currently I'm shrinking the resistor's length to 1 hole but the resistor body is still laying flat against the board.

Hello Ian!

Some other users also want this feature.  Unfortunately its well down the priority list - some other changes are urgent.

By making the resistor one cell long, at least you can make a valid layout in VeeCAD, even if doesn't look quite realistic.

Whatever happened to the issue of vertical resistors?
I too would very much like to see them in the component libraries.
Also, for radial electrolytic capacitors, these are often mounted with the radial wires splayed out beyond the footprint of the capacitor. How can this be depicted?

Hello Ian

I have vertical parts in my list of great ideas - along with 200 other great ideas I have not yet implemented. Sorry.

Right now you can resize your radial parts just as you would a resistor. Hold SHIFT and drag one of the leads. In the full version of VeeCAD you can even drag the lead diagonally.

For vertical resistors I've defined an RA1_1 component layout, e.g. just a radial component with a body width of 1. It looks just like vertical resistor Smiley

Hello Rod

Welcome to the forum!

Radial components work the same as leaded components. Hold down SHIFT and drag one of the leads.
