Tiny Cad Libraries

Is it possible to export symbols from a Tiny Cad schematic to a library.  (I have some drawings, not created by, me which use symbols which are in none of my libraries and would like to use them in future designs)

Hello David
  • Open your schematic file in TinyCAD.
  • Go Library -> Libraries
  • Click the "Add" button and create your new library
  • Select the new library in the list and click "Edit"
  • The library contents window is now showing. Because this library is new, you see only a blank window.
  • Right-click the blank window and select "New Symbol" from the popup menu.
  • Now you have the symbol editor showing for your new symbol.
  • Switch to your schematic window and copy *one* symbol
  • Switch to the symbol editor and paste your symbol.
  • Modify the symbol as you like.
  • Close the symbol editor window and choose Save when prompted.
  • Add other symbols to your library in the same way.

Thank you, Roger, that is very useful

But it seems to work more smoothly if I use "New" rather than "Add".   "Add" throws up some rather disconcerting error messages.

Do you understand the distinction between "Add" and "New"?

Sorry for the mistake. "Add" to add an existing library to the list, and "New" to create a library and add it to the list.
